Technometer Response (Response Rate) Comparison |
When a tachometer needles response is slow, it cannot keep up with quick changes in engine revolution and the display will show a lower value than the actual one. In this way large errors are not uncommon, such as at 5,000rpm the display reads 4,500rpm. Inconsistent movement, for example, up to 4000rpm the movement is fast, but above that it slows down, causes the display to be unable to show the actual engine revolution change, as it changes. As a response to these issues, PIVOT's Stepping Gauge with its original computer drive circuitry, stepping motor and instrumentation design brings to reality a gauge that offers high response and consistent movement without overshoot and waver.
Measurement method: At 0, instantaneously input 8000rpm signal.
Measuring Instrumentation and method: Analyze data taken with a high-speed digital camera.

Comparison Test against Standard Meter |
Below is a comparison of a standard tachometer display and the SGT-F1 when engine revolutions were increased by stepping on the accelerator.
Measuring method = Analysis of data taken by high-speed digital camera.
Bench mark precision = Before using the SGT-F1 for testing, we checked to make sure that precision gap was
0.
Top revolution = Highest engine revolution during test.
Time lag = The difference between the standard meter display time and the display time of the SGT-F1 at highest rpm.
Greatest Error = Shows largest gap in rpms
between standard meter and SGT-F1 while increasing revolution ( ) shows rpm at that time.

Water
temp meter Response (Response Rate) Comparison |

When a water temperature gauge needles
response is slow, it cannot keep up with quick changes in water temperature and the display will show a lower value than the actual one. In this way large errors are not uncommon, such as at 100°C the display reads 80°C. Inconsistent movement, for example, up to 70°C the movement is fast, but above that it slows down, causes the display to be unable to show the actual temperature change, as it changes.
As an answer to these issues, PIVOT's
Stepping Gauge brings to reality an ideal system with optimal movement.
Measurement method = At 20°C, instantaneously put sensor into water of 98°C.
Measuring method = Check a time series of temperature displays.
